Who planted the seeds of Garden Waze
Susan McDowell is a seasoned garden designer known for crafting garden containers and creating colorful elegant landscape beds. With a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature she infuses every project with a sense of enchantment and whimsy.
While working at Scottsdale Farms Nursery as a custom container and display designer, as well as a landscape grounds designer, she began building a base of repeat customers. It was then that she decided to branch out on her own and launch Garden Waze.
Susan is also a UGA–Georgia Certified Plant Professional, a recognition that reflects her deep knowledge and expertise in horticulture.
She finds inspiration exploring botanical gardens and natural landscapes around the country—from Butchart Gardens in British Columbia to Gibbs Gardens in her home state of Georgia. With her love of gardening and a creative eye for whimsical designs, Susan McDowell enjoys sharing her passion and encouraging others to explore the creative side of gardening, one plant at a time.
More about the founder
Susan’s love for gardening started when she was as a child, tagging along with her dad in the garden and helping him plant bright, colorful flower beds every year. Those early days sparked a lifelong passion for helping others bring their own world of color to life, season after season.
